Oh. Hi! My name is Cassie. I like to cook, read, and take pictures. I grew up in rural, southern Missouri. And now I make my home in the middle of Missouri where I hang out with my husband and two dogs.

I spend a lot of time reading and writing about schools and mathematics education. Specifically, I think a lot about the social implications of mathematics schooling. It has me curious about feminism and womanhood. I do my thinking in the kitchen and much of it weaves together to center around food. As I imagine new mathematics (education), I create new recipes. And all of that is central to my womanhood and feminism. It’s political to carry this female body through the world and in the kitchen.

Amidst all the thinking and reading, I find myself cooking, eating, and reading stacks of cookbooks on my couch.
